Where/why did you get your pet?
Callie was rescued via Monkey’s Pack in November as a kitten. She was a surprise for the kids as an early Christmas present.
Is there a story behind its name?
Madison had been talking about wanting a cat, and if we got one, she would want a calico cat and would name it Callie. Even though Callie is more of a tortoiseshell, we kept the name.
Anything special or unusual about them (talents/quirks)?
When we take Callie outside (with a harness and lease), she will dart outside and go leaping in the grass catching any bug in reach. When Callie is lucky, she gets to fish around in the toilet or go swimming. If the toilet seat is up, Callie will go in. And when she comes out, she is wet! Not many cats like getting wet. Callie is a huge talker; she follows us around and meows all day long! She has a lot to tell us and can be quite demanding!
What do you like best about your pet?
We like that Callie will follow us everywhere we go. And that she is very funny and silly.
Any funny stories?
One time, Madison was doing cartwheels in the basement. While she was upside down, Callie decided she wanted to play with her hair. Madison had no clue she was going to do that; she is a good sneak attacker.
How spoiled is your pet?
Very spoiled until we put her on a diet. She did not like it.
What else should we know about your pet and/or how your pet has enriched your home/family?
Monkey’s Pack had rescued Callie and her siblings. Her family was born in the walls of a church. Her sisters’ names are Angel and Emily, and her brothers’ names are Bubbles and Winnie. Callie is a perfect fit for our family; she loves being wherever we are and enjoys a nice fire in the winter like the rest of us!
